Voices of Unity: Songs of the African Diaspora
For this concert, Cantabile welcomes Toronto-based guest artists Justine Owen and Tracey Soman. Both classically-trained artists, Justine and Tracey combine their talents as the multi-talented R&B duo SWN. Together with SWN, Cantabile’s choirs present a wide variety of music – West African folksongs, Spirituals, Ragtime, Calypso, SOCA, R&B, Rock and Roll, Reggae, and Hip Hop – that expresses both the joys and the traumas of the African diaspora.
